As the chimes of Big Ben echo through the cold night, marking the arrival of another year, our thoughts naturally turn to resolutions. Beyond the familiar promises of self-improvement and personal growth, there is an opportunity for a safer, healthier future. Join THSP on a journey into a future where workplace safety, mental health, technology, and well-being take centre stage in our New Year’s resolutions.

The Quest for Safer Workplaces

In the heart of bustling London, John Anderson, a dedicated health and safety manager for a construction firm, reflects on the challenges of the past year. The Health and Safety Executive’s report is on his mind—£16.2 billion, the cost of workplace injuries and ill-health in 2019/20. Determined not to add to these statistics, John resolves to spearhead comprehensive safety training programs and regular equipment inspections in his workplace. His vision is clear: a safer environment where every employee can thrive without fear.   To achieve this vision John works with his dedicated Account Manager at THSP to outsource these plans to an organisation that can cover the entire UK and be on site within 48 hours.

Nurturing Mental Well-being

In a quaint office nestled in the countryside, Emma Turner, a human resources manager, for an estate agent chain contemplates the toll of stress and anxiety on her team. The Office for National Statistics’ revelation—that over 10 million working days were lost in 2020 due to mental health struggles—hits close to home. Emma embarks on a mission to prioritize mental health initiatives within her workplace, introducing The THRIVER program to her teams to encourage proactive mental fitness and fostering an environment where open conversations about mental health are not just encouraged but celebrated.

Embracing Technology for Safety

Amidst the hum of machines in a bustling factory in Birmingham, Sarah Mitchell, an innovative health, and safety coordinator, envisions a future where technology aligns seamlessly with safety measures. The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’s wisdom guides her— for every pound invested in health and safety, a return of £2 can be expected. Sarah wants technology for Health and Safety and for 2024 is weaving the MyTHSP portal through her daily activities, Risk and CoSHH assessments, monitoring training and tracing inspections, reducing risks, and enhancing safety for her team.

As the clock strikes twelve, marking the birth of a new year, we’re supporting our customers in their resolutions.
