World Suicide Prevention Day 2022

10 September was World Suicide Prevention Day.

Sadly, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

The international theme for World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 until 2023 is ‘Creating hope through action’, which aims to empower people with the confidence to engage with the complexity of ‘hope’.

The construction industry can be proud of the efforts being made on their behalf by the Lighthouse Club, Building Mental Health, and the likes of ManGang in Hampshire.

What these organisations have in common, is a commitment to challenge the stigma around mental health and suicide.

They say that knowledge is power, but it can also bring hope. Knowing that there are people out there who are willing to listen non-judgementally can bring light to the darkest of problems.
