THSP Launches the Bedford Boom Series to Help Local Businesses Seize Once-in-a-Generation Opportunity

With Bedfordshire on the cusp of transformative growth through the proposed Universal Studios UK development, THSP has launched the Bedford Boom Series – a LinkedIn-based campaign designed to help local businesses seize upcoming opportunities with confidence and clarity.

The proposed Universal Studios development, earmarked for a 476-acre site in Kempston Hardwick, represents one of the largest potential infrastructure projects in the region. If approved, it is expected to bring significant investment to Bedfordshire, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026 and an opening date projected for 2031. The scale of the development would require extensive supply chain support, workforce planning, and infrastructure readiness across multiple sectors.

Led by Kirsty Maynard, Commercial Director at THSP, the Bedford Boom Series delivers practical daily insights to help local businesses navigate what this development means for them – from tender readiness and ISO certification to workforce planning and collaboration strategies.

“This isn’t just a moment of growth; it’s a defining shift for the region,” says Kirsty. “The Bedford Boom Series is about helping Bedfordshire businesses respond with purpose, build resilience and work together to create long-term impact.”

Kirsty will also participate in a regional working group focused on shaping inclusive and effective supply chain strategies – bringing a local voice to the national stage and ensuring the benefits of the Universal Studios development are felt by the community.

The campaign promotes a core message: collaborate to compete. THSP encourages businesses to connect, share expertise, and form partnerships that strengthen local supply chains and boost the region’s competitiveness.

With consultants based across Bedford, Luton, Biggleswade, Dunstable, and beyond, THSP is proud to support Bedfordshire businesses of all sizes – from logistics and construction to manufacturing, retail and professional services.
