This UKATA Asbestos Awareness Annual Refresher (Category A) training course aims to provide candidates with theoretical training enabling them to demonstrate a good level of asbestos awareness in order to protect themselves and those around them from the effects of exposure to asbestos.
Who should attend?
Anyone who through their normal work activities could be exposed to materials containing asbestos in the workplace and who already holds a UKATA Certificate in Asbestos Awareness and needs to refresh or re-certify their knowledge as required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
The course is designed especially for UKATA certified members and will take into account delegate experience and skills whilst building upon knowledge gained from previously attending the full training course.
This course focuses on:
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
On successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:
- Accurately identify common asbestos products and state where they may be found in buildings or the workplace
- Demonstrate by listing/explanation an understanding of the hazards, health risks and controls associated with the accidental disturbance of asbestos.
