The Cable Avoidance Equipment (CAT and Genny) training course complies with Regulation 9 (1) of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998. The aim of this cable avoidance course is to train supervisors and operatives who are assigned the responsibility of locating underground services in the safe use of a cable avoidance tool and Genny.

Anyone who has to use a cable avoidance tool to locate services, any supervisors/managers overseeing this operation.
On successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:
- Safely use a cable avoidance tool
- Identify risk to themselves and others
- Correctly use a Genny
- Use the correct method of locating services
- Locate and mark out service runs.
