John Thoday – Chairman
John co-founded our company in 1992 and soon found a passion for helping businesses apply good health and safety standards in line with the newly introduced Management Regulations. When CDM was introduced in 1994, John quickly became an expert in the application of these regulations. He developed training courses for designers and construction managers delivered through the CITB, to effect a clear understanding of the regulations across the construction and demolition industries.
John has worked with environmental groups for many years, and in 2005 drove THSP to gaining the ISO14001 standard. This was quickly followed by launching environmental services and then employment law solutions to our clients.
Today John is a guiding light for our business, keeping us focused on the core aims and providing unlimited support to Adrienne and the other Directors.
Adrienne Massey – Managing Director
Adrienne is co-founder of THSP and has worked continually within the business since 1992. She is passionate about quality of service and the welfare of people, and strongly believes that developing people is key to a successful business.
Adrienne comes from a background in PR and publishing, and is a qualified trainer. “I am proud of THSP and feel that our clients benefit from the hands-on nature of our services.
My ethos is to manage a business that provides a proactive and technologically advanced service to our customers based on traditional values.”
Having spent a number of years working in the construction and care industries Andrew brings a wealth of operational understanding and knowledge as our Head of Employment Law and HR services. Andrew is known
by our clients as a tenacious and commercially focused lawyer with a depth of employment law knowledge that his colleagues think is outstanding. Andrew admits he has a ‘soap box’ passion for self employment and status that often leaves his colleagues in a trance when he delves into the mountain of case law on this subject. We think he is equally at home on all subjects in his field.
Andrew leads by example when it comes to great customer relationship and has developed a well known mantra at THSP of ‘responsive, bespoke and supportive’ client support and he often reminds people that ‘it’s good to talk’.
Now Andrew has completed his LLM in Employment Law he does likes to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two young boys. He is a keen racquet sport player (always looking for a new opponent), a swimmer and mountain biker. While at home Andrew is an experimental cook, usually with a good glass of red nearby!
Chris is our Consultant Director for Health and Safety and is responsible for ensuring THSP’s team of Health and Safety consultants deliver exceptional levels of service to all our customers.

Outside of work Chris’s primary interests are his family – most weekends are taken up watching one of his children playing sport or performing on a stage.
Chris has followed Birmingham City FC for almost 40 years, loves any opportunity to watch cricket live and until very recently, was playing football every week – something he hopes to be able to do again soon.
