On Armed Forces Day (Saturday 25th June) Kevin Harvey our Health and Safety Consultant and Team Leader joined in with the Cycle 4 Heroes event. This was a 100km ride around North Kent and set out from Gillingham, the home of the Royal Engineers Regiment.
Kevin is following on from this with the 100 mile Hero Ride-Dawn Raid on this Sunday (3rd July 2016). Starting at 2am from HMS Victory (Portsmouth) and finishing under the 15 inch guns outside the Imperial War Museum in London, hopefully in time for some brunch! This route will follow in the tracks of the 2012 Olympic road race with a steady 4% gradient incline and includes two full hairpins!
Although Kevin is a keen cyclist the reason behind all of this is to raise much needed funds for Help 4 Heroes.
Help 4 Heroes offers comprehensive support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country. This support is provided at four Help for Heroes Recovery Centres across the UK and through support grants to individuals and other charities. This is an amazing charity to lend your support to and they are also THSP’s national charity of the year.
