If you’re a construction worker you should be prepared to show your skills card for the nationwide card audit which is taking place on Wednesday 8th February 2017.
On this day, all member companies of Build UK and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association have been instructed to check all cards. This has been organised to make sure that all cards are of the smart card variety and up to date.
The reason for this smart card audit is to promote smart technology which is used by Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and affiliated schemes to highlight any expired or fraudulent cards, whilst driving increased industry uptake.
Over 50,000 people hold a SKILLcard, in fact, it’s one of the largest schemes affiliated to the CSCS. Many construction and site managers request their workers hold a SKILLcard before coming on site.
How can we help?
Everyone working on site must have a CSCS Labourers card, in order to get this you need to complete a Health, Safety & Environment touch screen test, you can learn all the answers on our CITB Health and Safety Awareness training course.
