The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) were amended on 6th April 2015 and this has had a major effect on construction managers and designers.
THSP offer a range of services to assist with the management of these Regulations at all levels. The level of assistance required will depend entirely on the complexity of the project. This can be loosely defined as follows:
|Low||A small project, with a low number of contractors, of short duration and low-risk work, e.g. bathroom or kitchen fit out, small room fit out. Approximate project value under £10,000. Usually less than one month’s duration.|
|Medium||A project with a likely duration of one to six months. This would be work carried out within the capabilities of a general contractor (no specialist contractors). Examples include – office or showroom fit-outs, small extensions, standard house builds (small developments) and fibre optic cable installations. Approximate project values from £10,000 – £250,000.|
|High||Longer term/complex projects with a duration usually more than six months. Typically these could be major refurbishments, historical buildings and larger developments with higher risk activities. The projects may involve complex temporary works, contracts with difficult logistical problems, complex clients or require specialist contractors.|
Approximate project values ranging from £250,000 – £5m.
