Stop! Make a change is now half way through its two-week long campaign, finishing on Friday 27th April.
Tying in with the 2018 theme, THSP Risk Management has taken this opportunity to encourage customers to make full use of site visits from our consultants and carry out tool-box talks with their team members.
These tool-box talks are so important in the day to day running of construction sites. Taking a moment to focus on the importance of talking about worries and anxieties which workers may experience.
In the UK, one in four of us will suffer from mental health issues. In the UK, construction workers are more likely to die from suicide than they are to be killed in a fall from height. On top of the mental health focus, Stop! Make a change is also focusing on plant safety. In the past 5 years, 10% of all construction site fatalities were caused by individuals being hit by a moving vehicle.
THSP wants to reduce these statistics and make the construction industry a safe place for everyone to work. So, for the last week of this year’s campaign, let us help you to get your workers home safe after each shift.
Remember, if you have a THSP consultant visiting your site this week, let them take a moment to sit down with your team and carry out a toolbox talk. Alternatively, if your team members have raised any issues or concerns over the past week and you would like to receive free confidential advice, give us a call on 03456 122 144 or visit www.THSP.co.uk
