We recognise that many individuals are promoted to supervisory or management positions on the strength of their technical experience and expertise. However, those promoted can often struggle in their new position as they are suddenly confronted with having to manage other people, without the necessary skills or knowledge.

THSP has created a modular development programme designed to address this need. The Essential Skills for Managing People Programme consists of four half day workshops that start with Recruitment and Selection and moves through Performance Management and Equality and Diversity to HR for Non-HR Managers. Of course, these are our ideas of the essential skills necessary, but we are flexible in our approach and can add, subtract or substitute modules to suit your specific circumstances.

Other available half day modules include, Essentials of Communication, Management vs. Leadership, Basic Coaching, Motivation and Delegation, Teams and Teamwork and Banter or Harassment . More experienced managers and leaders may benefit from Change Management and Emotional Intelligence (e-learning).

All programmes and workshops can be delivered as open courses at our training venues in Bedfordshire, London and Essex. We can also deliver bespoke programmes for four or more managers at your premises or a venue local to you throughout the UK.
